Addiction is powerful. It can enslave people beyond their will. At first, it starts like a habit until its possessive and destructive power gets a hold on people.

I was once a victim of addiction to alcohol. However, I am grateful to my mother who prayed for me. At that time, I thought she was wasting her time. But then, a few months down the line, God touched my heart and delivered me from the grip of alcoholism.

This short prayer can be made anytime of the day and in any location. As a matter of fact, I refer to it as a holy mantra that works like magic.

Have you been praying consistently for your son? Well, the time has come for you to implement this short prayer strategy.

In this prayer, get straight to the point. Actually, you don’t need to go through the formal process of thanking God for your son before presenting your request. This type of prayer is a follow-up to the prayers you have been making

God is interested in this case. If he did it for me, I am sure you can enjoy the same for your son.

With this short prayer for your alcoholic son, God will begin work by touching your son’s mind. This will linger for a few days before it begins to take full effect on his attitude to alcohol taking.

You can take 2 minutes during the day to mutter these words to God. Be rest assured that He hears everything you say. Have faith that He will answer your prayer and look forward to amazing results.

As it says in the Bible, we must talk with Him instead of getting lost in alcohol — Ephesians 5:18-19:

“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”

2) Prayer to heal an addicted child

“I pray with all my strength and with all my faith to God Our Lord so that He heals my child (child’s name) from alcohol addiction. I ask God Our Lord to take away the addiction of alcohol in my child’s life.

I ask that You, God the Father, guide my child along the path of goodness, light, faith and purity. I ask that You remove all the bad thoughts of addictions and alcohol from his/her head.

I also ask, my God, that you remove from my child’s life all the bad company, all the bad people and all those who lead him/herto the path of alcohol. Please, my God, I pray to you with faith, because I know that you are my last hope. Amen.”

Addiction is similar to sickness. Actually, it is sickness. The difference between physical sickness and addiction is that addiction is a sickness of the mind

The mind can be affected by various things ranging from bad associations to negative thoughts. Sometimes, it can be a spiritual attack from your enemies. This is why you should not take it for granted.

Once you begin to notice this in your son, start a series of midnight prayers.

Using this prayer, you will wage war against the negative energy in your son’s mind, which might have led or contributed to the extreme addiction to alcoholism

Midnight is the best time to say this prayer because it is when your son’s defense is down the most. Therefore, it will be easy for the prayer to penetrate his mind and begin to work immediately.

You can say this prayer as many times as you may need.

“With the strength of God Our Lord, I invoke all the saints for the life of (son’s name) right now, so that he stops drinking, gives up his addictions and becomes a healthier person.

I ask with all my strength, with the strength of God Our Lord and with the strength of all the saints who can hear me to help my son (son’s name) to stop drinking!

May they help him to give up alcohol once and for all, which is so bad for him, which spoils his life so much.

Please, please! Guide him now and forever, Amen.”

It is difficult for your alcoholic son to suddenly stop drinking. Especially when he has been doing it for many years.

It takes the power of God to deliver him from this bondage.

This is why you need to pray. When you pray for your alcoholic son to stop drinking, you are releasing God’s power to work on the situation.

Your son needs you now more than ever, even though he may not ask for help or admit that he has a drinking problem.

Show him this Bible verse:

Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in love immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” — Romans 13:13-14.

“God the Father, free my son from alcohol, from bad addictions, from bad company and from a bad future. Free my son from all paths that are destined for evil, that are destined for failure, addictions and a life miserable.

Please, allow my son (say the son’s name) to have strength within his heart to be able to stop alcohol addiction, to be able to leave bad company and to have the strength to move forward.

Don’t let him give up in the face of temptation, don’t let him give up in the face of bad company, don’t let him give up for anything in this world.

Father God, please remove drinking from my son’s life, now and forevermore. Amen.”
