7 Morning Prayers of Gratitude: Thanking God for Everything

7 Morning Prayers of Gratitude: Thanking God for Everything

When we invite God into our day, in the morning, we start the day right. As a believer, it should not be optional. God wants to walk with us every hour of our day, and that starts in the early morning hours.

Jesus always prayed and showed us how and when to do so. He prayed at any time of the day, as the scriptures tell us. We see in Matthew 6:9-13 how He prayed during the day by praying “Our Father” to demonstrate the format of our prayers.

He prayed in the evening in the Garden of Gethsemane, as Matthew 26:36-46 tells us. Most of all, He prayed in the early morning hours, as Mark 1:35 tells us.

It is important to be quiet and restful when we start our day, as the Lord showed us. It is in these quiet moments that we can thank Him for everything He has done for us.

Before you start, save these morning prayers for your family.

1) Short Morning Prayer of Gratitude

Short Morning Prayer of Gratitude

“This morning, my Lord and Saviour, I come into Your presence and thank You for allowing me to see another day.

My heart is grateful this morning, Lord, for a good rest last night and that I can be with my family once more.

Thank You, dear Father in Heaven, for granting me this morning to be with You and invite You into my day.

May I feel Your presence and blessing during my day. May You give strength, joy and courage to face any challenge that may appear.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.”

We can only give thanks to the Lord and be grateful for everything He does for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us that we should do this:

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

When we serve the Lord, we know His power and glory and what He can and will do for us. It is His will that we give thanks to Him.

This is not because He deserves it, but simply because He is God.

“Father in Heaven, this morning I come to thank You for all You do for me. I give glory to Your Name and I am deeply grateful.

Thank You for allowing me to live another day in this beautiful world You created. Thank You for all the grace, mercy and strength You have given me. My life wouldn’t be the same without You.

May my heart be filled with Your gratitude and love in the morning. Thank you, Lord. Amen.”

The Lord needs us to be grateful to Him. He is our Lord and Savior, and our lives depend on Him.

We should always “come into his presence with thanksgiving,” as the Psalmist tells us in Psalms 95:2.

Our gratitude should be expressed through “music and song,” as He says.

You can say this beautiful prayer every morning, as you wake up or as you take your breakfast. As long as you’re still in your home, that’s what matters. Because it shows God that He was in your mind during the first hours of the morning.

3) Morning Prayer to Thank God for Everything

“Dear God,

Today, I pray to thank You for all the blessings in my life. Thank You that I can come to You and give You thanks for everything.

Father in heaven, thank You so much for everything I own and for letting me enjoy another day. You are my Lord and Savior.

My heart is thankful, this morning and forever for all that You have done for me.

You’ve always been present in the moments I needed the most, You’ve always been present to lift me up and You’ve always guided me in the best path.

May I continue to feel Your presence in my life today and forever, Amen.”

Thanking the Lord for everything should always be the first thing we do when we pray. It is one of the best things to do for our morning prayers as well.

God’s grace is sufficient for us and you need to show Him. Remember that every little thing you have in your life was a blessing from Him.

He only wants what is best for you without asking for anything in return.

  • He gives you the strength to wake up in the morning;
  • He gives you the courage to face every problem in Your life;
  • He fills your path with good opportunities!

He says so in 2 Corinthians 12:9:

My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Also pray these prayers for faith and trust in God.

“Dear Lord, I come before You with much praise and thanksgiving this morning. Thank You for all Your hope and glory.

Father in heaven, I give praise and thanksgiving to You today for offering me strength and courage to achieve my goals.

Thanks and praises to You, my Father, for giving me this new day to call on You. Thank you for who You are.”

Praising and thanking the Lord should always be a part of our prayers. We should always give thanks with a grateful heart.

As David wrote in Psalms 136:1:

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”

Singing His praises in the morning or listening to a beautiful hymn before praying is a wonderful way of meeting with the Lord, too.

Show God that you’re thankful for His presence in your life and that He helps you achieve anything you want!

“I am thankful to You, My Lord, and I am grateful that You have bestowed so many blessings upon my life.

I am so grateful and thankful to You, my Father in heaven, that You care so much for me and the life I live on this earth.

This morning I just want to thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross for my sins. I thank You and I am grateful for this gift.

Today, I praise You God, from whom all blessings flow into my life. Amen.”

We must always thank the Lord and be grateful for all we have in our lives. Our thanksgiving and gratitude go out to Him for everything we have in our lives.

Always remember that all things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26).

It is therefore important to thank Him and be grateful for all He does for us. The hymn: “Praise God, from whom all blessings flow” is a good way to thank the Lord.

I believe you will love these prayers for the impossible to happen.

“Heavenly Father,

Thank You that I am here this morning in Your presence with good health and strength.

I give praise to and glorify You with gratitude for my health and strength today and forever.

Father in Heaven, I bring praise to Your Name for a healthy body and a sound mind in this morning hour.

May You keep blessing me and my life with Your presence. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.”

We are healthy because God wants us to have a healthy body. As His Word says:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” — 3 John 1:2.

What a wonderful verse to describe how we can ask for a healthy body and be grateful for it.

You can start this prayer by saying this Bible verse.

God is a faithful God and always heeds our calls to Him. Ask Him for anything, but always remember to thank him, too.

7) Prayer of Gratitude for Life and Happiness

“Almighty God,

In all things, and above all for my life and happiness, I am grateful to You, my Lord, and my God.

I rejoice in You, Father God, for granting me this life and the happiness I am enjoying right now. Thank You.

Thank You, Lord, for the wonderful gift of life, abundance, and happiness. I thank You for Your mercy and grace in this morning hour. Amen.”

Our lives and happiness depend on our relationship with God.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalms 37:4.

The Lord provides for all our needs and we can be assured that that includes happiness each day.

This doesn’t mean we will never experience sadness. We are humans and will experience sadness.

However, each day we can pray and ask the Lord to preserve our souls.

Also save these prayers for wednesday morning blessings.

Should I Thank God for Everything I have?

When God instructs us, He uses His word.

Thus, He says this in John 16:24 — “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

Whatever we receive from Him, we should thank Him for it.

Even if we have not asked Him for anything, as believers, we should thank Him for everything we have. This is because all blessings flow from Him if we trust Him.

Will These Prayers Help Me Be Happier?

Prayers are important and, as we said, are a way of asking God for all we need. Being obedient to Him is what will make us happy.

As God says in His Word:

And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” — 1 Samuel 15:22-24.

By obeying the Lord, through our grateful hearts, and through making our requests known to Him, He will hear our voices and answer us. Through His answers, we will know happiness and have a joyful life.

When Should I Thank God?

We should always thank the Lord. It does not matter whether we are in prayer or simply walking down the street.

Whenever you think of His goodness, you should thank Him.

There is no set time to thank the Lord.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” — Colossians 3:17.

Final Thoughts

Thanking God for everything in our lives is absolutely necessary. It is in obedience to His Word. Most importantly, though, as our hearts overflow with the knowledge of His truth, and how grateful we are to Him, we cannot otherwise but thank Him.

In all things we should praise Him and thank Him. With our hearts filled with gratitude, we will also see His Hand upon our lives.

As it says: “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” — Romans 11:36.

Praying in the early morning hours, we can meet with the Lord in quiet solitude. It is a time of day that will help us set the tone of the day and prepare our hearts to receive His blessings and miracles.
