Pack 592 has a great program because of parental involvement. Scouting provides the framework to be able to do all kinds of fun and interesting things with your children but it takes volunteers to make it happen.

Many of us have large families. Some of us juggle two jobs. Home schooling and/or involvement in the Saint Agnes School takes much of our time. Given these realities, we’ve structured things to make volunteering manageable. And for every one of us, there are dozens at the district and council level to support us. If you’re wondering if volunteering is worth it, please read the personal story from one of the leaders of Pack 592.

The Boy Scouts of America provides training for volunteers and great program support including low cost camp programs, skits, project ideas, and so on. There is no sense in reinventing the wheel when it’s all been done before. If you find yourself asking whether you’re qualified to be a Scout leader, I can’t think of a better qualification than being a parent or grandparent. You are eminently qualified. Training introduces you to the Scouting movement and helps you to be more efficient and effective.

The more volunteers the pack has, the easier it is to deliver a great program. Together, we all make the pack run.
