Statement with Respect to Monsignor Richard Schuler's Health Monsignor Richard J. Schuler, age 86, suffered a mild stroke at his residence on January 10, 2007. He has recovered somewhat from this stroke and is mentally clear, able to speak without noticeable problems, and is appropriate in his responses. However, he needs therapy and at the present time is not able to return to his previous residence in Hopkins, MN. At this time, he needs continued rest to recover from the effects of the stroke. He also needs rest from some therapy he will be receiving. In accord with his own wishes and that of his medical team, his family requests that no one visit him or call him on the phone. He and his family are very grateful for all of the prayers offered on his behalf and ask that these prayers continue.
